ACT American College Of Testing Exam

The ACT (American College Testing) is a standardized testing exam for students who are graduating from school. The ACT is recognized across states of US.  The test ascertains the knowledge and readiness of the student to graduate to next level. The biggest competitor for the ACT exam is the SAT exam.  ACT  was introduced in 1959 with  an intention to challenge the Scholastic Aptitude Test, now known as the SAT. ACT exam helps students to find the right college and career goals.

Eligibility For ACT American College Of Testing Exam

Students who have completed 12 years of  education and will like to move on to next grade are eligible for taking the ACT test.  ACT test  is a platform to receive scholarships.

Syllabus Of ACT American College Of Testing Exam

ACT Exam has five sections for the test takers.  
English - a student must be prepared with standard writing skills that they have learnt over the years.
Mathematics - knowledge is assessed based on 12 years of education pattern leared by students   
Reading - skills will be assessed on various passages. It is important for a student to understand how to answer multiple choice questions based on prose given.
Science  - A subject to test student skills in the scientific phenomena.
Writing - Basically judges the writing skills of the student.

Format Of ACT American College Of Testing Exam

As already mentioned above, the ACT has five main sections.
1. English has 75 questions and the total time to answer  is 45 minutes.
2. Mathematics  has 60 questions and the total time  is one hour.
3. Total number of questions which a student has to answer in Reading is 40 has a number of 40 questions and the time given is 35 minutes.
4. Science has 40 questions. The total time  to solve is 35 minutes.
5. The fifth is a writing test which is optional. This section contains only one question. The total time for the student to write this section is 30 minutes.
