Eligibility For ATP Assistive Technology Practitioner Certification Exam

The eligibility requirements are elaborate where the individual has to show experience or degree qualification. The masters must be in special education or rehab science or work experience of around 6 years in total. The individual must be complete with work experience alongwith practical training of either 10 (2000 hrs), 20 (4000hrs) or 30 hours (6000 hrs) within the six year period. If the individual does not possess either of the qualification of degree he/she must be able to produce a diploma of high school alongwith 6000 hours of work experience from 10 years period.

 

Format Of ATP Assistive Technology Practitioner Certification Exam

The ATP examination is formatted using multiple choice questions that are a total of 200 questions in all. The questions test an individual in core competencies and broad field of assistive technology practice. The application fee for the examination is of $500.The exam is being conducted online and considers different types of subject topics in delivering the certification. It consists of customer need assessments as subject part for 27% of total questions, Intervention strategies being 34%, implementation topic comprising 26% and evaluation being 10% alongwith professional conduct of 3% of total questions.
