SAT Exam

The SAT is basically a standardized reasoning test that is required for gaining admission into almost all colleges. It had been introduced in 1926 to assess candidate academic readiness for college. The SAT has been established by the College Entrance Examination Board which is a non-profit organization. The exam helps the college analyze a student’s point of view and their reasoning. A high SAT score along with good grades in school are the main criteria for admission into the best colleges.

Eligibility For SAT Exam

The high school juniors are eligible for the test. The high school juniors are basically the students who are in between elementary school and high school.

Syllabus Of SAT Exam

The SAT tests are of two types: SAT reasoning test and SAT subject test.
The SAT reasoning section has critical reading. This judges the students on sentence completion, short reading passages, long reading passages.
Mathematics- questions on algebra, probability, data analysis, numbers and operations, geometry.
Third is the writing section which basically has multiple choice questions along with essays.
The second type of SAT is the SAT subject which has an option of around 22 subjects. The SAT subject test is taken only when a student wants to take a particular course in college. E.g. If a student wants to pursue French in college he/she must appear for the SAT subject test.

Format Of SAT Exam

The total time required to take the SAT is 3 hours 45 minutes. It consist of 10 sections.
•    3 sections test writing. Time provided to complete these sections is 60 minutes.
•    3 sections test critical reading. Time provided to complete these sections is 70 minutes.
•    3 sections test mathematics. Time provided to complete these sections is 70 minutes.
The questions are mostly multiple choices, However it also consists of essay type along with reading formats.
